报告题目: On the instability of Z-pinch in plasma for inviscid and viscous cases

报告摘要:In this talk, we will show the results about the linear instability of z-pinch in plasma for the inviscid and viscous cases. We prove that the z-pinch is generically unconditionally unstable for both inviscid and viscous cases. Moreover, for the inviscid case we prove the linear ill-posedness under some condition, which does not seem to have been observed before in the literature. These works are joint with Y. Guo and I. Tice.

报告人简介:边东芬,北京理工大学副教授,博士生导师。博士毕业于中国工程物理研究院,毕业之后访学于香港中文大学、香港城市大学、布朗大学。其主要研究领域是流体力学和等离子体物理中偏微分方程的数学分析,研究成果发表在Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, SIAM Journal on Mathematical AnalysisJournal of Mathematical Fluid MechanicsJournal of Differential Equations等国际著名SCI数学期刊上。
